Anochetus armstrongi
A small cryptic species (6mm) of trap-jaw ant found in small colony numbers under ground debris such as rocks, logs etc. Burrow entrances in the open have also been seen at night when these ants surface - some of the images show such ants catching alate termites. Trap-jaw ants have one of the fastest reacting jaws in the world.
